The Village of Vicksburg is accepting applications for a part-time position of Accounts Payable Clerk to serve in the Finance Department.
Job Duties:
This position is responsible for weekly preparing and processing of accounts payable to be coded, obtain proper approval, paid, updating and maintaining vendor data, and printing, distributing and/or mailing of checks, and filing. Produces related accounts payable reports and issues annual 1099’s. This position may also provide customer service to area residents, businesses, contractors, realtors and title offices, including answering the phone, receipting of monies paid to the Village, cashing out and balancing of drawer, posting of receipts in the computer system, and preparing audit schedules and reports related to area of responsibility for annual independent audit engagement, as well as ordering supplies as needed. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least an associate’s degree in accounting or related field; 2+ years of experience in an accounting/finance position; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Course work or experience with computers, accounting software, data processing, and spreadsheets, strong math skills, excellent customer service and organizational skills. Experience with BS&A software and advanced knowledge and experience with accounts payable and fund accounting are a plus.

Work Schedule/Compensation:
20-24 hours per week (Flexible), Monday thru Thursday. Pay range is $18.00 to $24.00/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
