Discover Kalamazoo (destination marketing organization for Kalamazoo County) is looking to hear from residents, business owners, and members of different organizations around Kalamazoo County:

In partnership with several Kalamazoo organizations, including the City of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County and Southwest Michigan First, the Discover Kalamazoo team is working on an exciting initiative to develop a Unique Selling Proposition – or core branding message – for Kalamazoo County. This proposition will ultimately serve as the foundation for future Kalamazoo marketing efforts, helping to drive tourism, local business, as well as unite the current Kalamazoo community around a message that stands for all residents.

As part of this project, we’d like to involve and hear from as many Kalamazoo County community members as possible. To that end, we plan to host a Community Roundtable discussion on June 28th in Vicksburg from 5 pm – 7 pm.

This will be an informal, 2-hour group dialog that will give members of our community an opportunity to have their voices heard in this initiative, talking to what they think makes the Kalamazoo area a special place to live, as well as anything else they want our team to take into consideration as we develop this proposition. Participants will receive a $25 gift card for their time.

Below is a link to a form where those who are interested in attending this session can sign up. We’d like these discussions to include participants from as many corners of Kalamazoo county as possible.

We have partnered with an agency, Consumer Dynamics, to help lead these conversations. They will be going through all the registration submissions to ensure a good cross-section of representation from a broad range of stakeholders throughout the County. They will reach out directly to those who have been selected to attend. While this roundtable will be limited in capacity, there will be additional opportunities to give input later in this project if you are not selected for the roundtable.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE:
Recent heavy rains have caused erosion under the overview deck on the north end of Clark Park. An inspection done today (6/16/22) has deemed the structure unsafe. The deck will be taped off and closed to public use. The Village will present a plan of action within 45 days.

Maybe refurbishing the deck (and stairs and walkway) could happen at the same time the waterfall and closed off part of the waterway is “finished”?

Saw that coming!!
