- Destruction of Trees on Village Owned Property
COUNCIL ACTION: “I move to authorize the Village Manager and Village President to explore all legal options, including litigation, to seek reimbursement to the Village for the damage done to Village property, including mass destruction of trees, between CB MacDonald Way residential property lot line and Barton Lake waterway and to take all steps necessary to carry out this instruction of Council. Any proposed resolution or settlement must be brought before the Council for review and approval.”
- Angels Crossing Golf Course needed Equipment: The purchase of the following needed equipment for Angels Crossing Golf Course Maintenance Department:
- 50 Horse Power John Deere Mower $ 28,014.05
This bid is under the Government purchasing program insuring that it is a low-bid amount. The tractor is needed at Angels Crossing to pull rough mowers, pull wagons, etc and will be the 2nd tractor (Original 2004 one is still in use) used at the golf course. This tractor will be purchased with golf course revenue funds and will not include any general fund tax dollars. Staff Recommends approval to purchase this needed this needed equipment.
COUNCIL ACTION: Staff recommends a motion, support, and approval of the Village Manager entering into an agreement with John Deere (Steensma) to purchase a 50 HP Tractor by Angels Crossing Golf Club.

- Rezoning of three parcels of land at the south east corner of S. Main and E. Park St including an unaddressed parcel (parking lot), 114 E. Park St., 409 S. Main St. MI 49097 (PPN: 14-13-489-010, 14-13-489-020, 14-13-489-030); aka the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, being a combined 0.53 acres more or less. - Village Manager Report (Mallery)
- Update on Infrastructure Project –
- Relay conversation at Rise and Dine and outside of Distant Whistle with two different couples.
- Final grade asphalt and 90% of sidewalk work has been completed on Prairie St. To be completed is the center area of the bumpout in front of the Hide A Way and China 1 and the planting area between the raised curb line and the parking lot of the Dollar General.
- The watermain installed on Washington St. passed the State of Michigan required test and Washington St. has been rebuilt so that curbs could be installed and a base layer of asphalt to be installed (Scheduled for Saturday, November 21st). There were 7 water connections made on Washington St. to ensure that the lead-line rules were followed.
- Main Street top layer coat of Asphalt (Scheduled for Nov 21st) and base coat of Washington (Sept 21St). The top layer of asphalt will be installed in the Spring of 2022, but the street will be open to through traffic beginning Monday, November 22, 2022.
- The fire hydrant was moved in front of the hardware store to ensure a parking spot at the location.
- A decision has been made to not install the downtown outdoor furniture (tables, benches, etc) until the Spring of 2022.
- We prioritized having street lights installed first and then traffic signals downtown.
- DPW Building Update: The construction of the 6000 Sq. Ft. building at DPW has initiated and the framing has the roof trust in place and concentration is focused on getting the area that will hold our salt storage prepared so we can retrieve our winter salt from the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County.
