11. Village Council Action Items:
a. McKenna & Associates Ordinance Updates: Scope of Work
i. The Village of Vicksburg received a $42,500.00 grant from the MEDC to improve zoning ordinances, etc. Staff is recommending a motion, support, and approval for the Village Manager to enter into a specific agreement with our Zoning Administration partner (McKenna) to assist us with accomplishing the grant objectives. This cost is part of the grant dollars, along with financial assistance for legal advice, publishing, etc.
b. 2025-2027 Village Council Strategic Plan
i. The 2025-2027 Vicksburg Village Council developed this DRAFT Strategic Plan with the facilitation from Peter Dams. Staff is recommending that there is a motion, support, and roll call vote to approval this strategic plan as written and upon approval, the Village Clerk with post the plan on our website.
c. Replacement Street Light: A street light was broken related to a traffic accident. The cost to replace the street light is $8,650.00 (All-Phase). This light is the same as the other green poled light along Prairie St. Chief Sanderson will be following up with the at-fault driver’s insurance company seeking reimbursement for the light pole. Staff recommends a motion, support, and approval of the purchase of the light-pole.
12. Village Manager Report (Mallery)
a. Discussion on the need for investing in an additional full-time police officer to serve the Village of Vicksburg.
b. ½ Birthday Event May 17, 2025 starting at 2:00 PM – 7:30 PM downtown.
